Hidden Glencoe
Three days exploring the hidden landscapes of Scotland's most dramatic glen.

The Territory
Glencoe is renowned for its iconic peaks and roadside viewpoints, but its true character lies hidden in the folds of the mountains. This expedition bypasses the tourist crowds, taking you into the quiet, atmospheric corners of the glen that most photographers never find.
We focus on mood, light, and composition - exploring the intimate relationships between water, rock, mist, and ancient landscape. From hidden lochans to dramatic mountain passes, every location has been scouted for its photographic potential.

Day by Day
Arrival & The Glen
Morning arrival at our base hotel. Drop bags, settle in, and join the group for lunch at a nearby restaurant - a chance to get to know your fellow photographers before we head into the field.
Afternoon drive to Glen Etive for our first shooting session along the river and valley. As evening falls, we move to a secluded mini loch for sunset. Return to hotel for dinner.
Chasing the Summit
Our goal is to summit Stob Mhic Mhartuin (393m) for a dramatic ridge-top sunset - a 5.5km round trip taking 2.5-3 hours. This is weather dependent. If conditions don't allow the hike, we have an equally rewarding Plan B exploring iconic lowland locations.
- • Optional sunrise at Corpach
- • Glenfinnan Viaduct to photograph the iconic steam train
- • Shoot around the famous, secluded Glencoe Hut
- • Sunset hike up Stob Mhic Mhartuin for dramatic ridge vistas

The Lowland Route
Scotland's weather is part of its character. If conditions keep us off the summit, we pivot to equally rewarding locations that thrive in moody, overcast light.
- • Sunrise shoot at the Glencoe Hut and waterfall areas
- • Various locations around Glencoe
- • Sunset session at Castle Stalker, the iconic coastal fortress

The Final Light
If the skies are clear, we make the most of golden light across Glencoe's most dramatic viewpoints, building to a final sunset that rewards the hike.
- • Sunrise at Loch Achtriochtan and Glencoe Pass
- • Lunch and image review
- • Sunset hike to Meall an Doire Dharaich
The Loch Trail
Overcast skies bring their own magic to the Highlands. We trade summit views for atmospheric loch reflections and the dramatic silhouette of Kilchurn Castle at sunset.
- • Sunrise at Loch Tulla
- • Loch Baan and Loch na h-Achlaise
- • Lunch
- • Sunset at Kilchurn Castle
